Marvel's Ten Rings Explained: Shang-Chi And Mandarin!

Hello and welcome everyone. In the Shang Chi movie, we are finally going to get the Ten Rings in the MCU that was first teased way back in the first Iron Man movie. So in this video, we are going to discuss all the Ten Rings.

First and foremost don’t get confused between The Ten Rings and Ten Rings, these are two different things. The Ten Rings is a terrorist organization whereas Ten Rings actually ring, yes the total number of these special rings is ten.  

First, let’s talk about The Ten Rings, which is a terrorist organization dedicated to destroying world peace by any means necessary. It is believed to be led by a mysterious warlord known as the Mandarin. The history of the Ten Rings is shrouded in mystery. Several members believed their leader, the Mandarin, had inspired generations of men since the Middle Ages, perhaps even further back in time, implying that the organization was hundreds of years old. Some even described the organization as "faith."

All branches of the Ten Rings operate as individual cells, with every cell operating independently of each other. The leaders of each cell had no idea about people in any other cell other than one contact. Each cell would receive money and weapons as long as the leaders of the cells did not ask any questions.

So being a multinational organization, members of Ten Rings branches speak multiple languages. And since the Ten Rings are one of the most powerful terrorist organizations in the world, their members are equipped with all types of military weapons, even experimental ones. Anything that could be stolen or bought on the black market would eventually find its way to the terrorists' arsenal. All sorts of rifles, machine guns, handguns, heavy weapons, and even tanks, are used by the Ten Rings.

Now let’s talk about Ten Rings, which was discovered by the Mandarin in China’s “Valley of Spirits,” the Ten Rings of Power are the product of the dragon-like race from the planet Maklu- 4. The Axonn-Karr utilized them mainly as the power source for their interstellar craft’s engines. The rings’ functions currently cannot be explained by modern Earth science.

The Mandarin learned how to utilize the rings for his personal use and make them respond to his commands. Over the years, the Mandarin’s mind has come to inhabit the rings, so now no one else can take control of the rings.

So basically, Mandarin has one ring in each of his fingers. Each ring provides him a unique powerset. 

Starting with his left hand. The ring in the left pinky provides an ice blast, the ability to freeze air in its path and lower an object’s temperature to almost absolute zero.

The left Ring Finger ring provides a Mento-Intensifier, which magnifies the Mandarin’s psychic energy enabling him to mentally control a person. But this is only effective at short distances. 

The left Middle Finger ring provides Electro-Blast. This emits quantities of electrical energy, which has seemingly no upper bound. 

The ring in the left Index Finger emits infrared radiation and can cause air to incandesce by igniting its molecules. 

Finally Left Thumb ring emits many different types of energy from the electromagnetic spectrum. Which is frequently used as intense visible light and laser beams.

Now moving on the rings in his right hand. 

The ring in the right pinky grants Black Light. Which creates an area of “absolute blackness”. It is believed that this ring accesses the “Darkforce”, which is used by people such as Darkstar and the Shroud.

Right Ring Finger ring gives the capability of Disintegration Beam. Which destroys bonds between atoms and molecules causing an object’s cohesion to fall apart. But this can only be used every 20 minutes. 

The ring in the right middle finger grants Vortex Beam. This causes air to swirl about in a vortex at high speed, which can levitate objects, and be used as a weapon.

The Right Index Finger ring has the ability to Impact the Beam. This projects a concussive force of approximately 350 pounds of TNT. This can also cause intense sonic vibrations and can create magnetic waves.

And finally the ring in the right thumb grants the ability of Matter Rearranging. This can rearrange atoms or molecules of substances or speed up and slow their movements to result in various effects.
